🇹🇷 The Great Turkish Adventure: Part Two - Pamukkule

Image
We took three bus trips in Turkey. One was short. Two were really, really long. The shortest trip was from Bodrum to Pamukkale. It took about five to six hours.  Somewhere during this journey, I surprised even myself and decided to be practical. I checked Google reviews of the Denizli bus station to figure out how to reach our hotel. Because no matter where you travel, someone before you has struggled and written about it. Sure enough, one reviewer mentioned that the underground level of the station has small buses that drop you close to Bellamaritimo Hotel. It opened in  1997  after transforming from a military base—now it’s the  third busiest  in the Aegean! And the name? Pure logic: " Hava " = air, " Liman " = port. Literally "Air Port." Couldn’t be simpler!) And then, a taxi uncle appeared from nowhere, a man in his 50s.  "Merhaba! Need taxi? Very good price!" Now, I had done my research. I had consulted ChatGPT (my digital travel guru), which had assured me that a ride to Gümbet should cost 30-50 euros. So, channelin...
